OVERNIGHT OATS w CHIA SEEDS / diary

ABOUT:

Here is a base recipe for Overnight Oats with Chia Seed. Below you’ll find all of my adaptions of the recipe.



SERVES 6

Ingredients

200g (2 cups and 1 tablespoon) rolled oats

50g (⅓ cup) chia seeds

400ml (2 cups and 1 tablespoon) almond milk or milk of your choice, plus extra as needed

200ml water

3 tablespoons maple syrup, plus extra to serve

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Sea salt

Method

1.In a container or large bowl, combine the oats, chia seeds, milk, water, maple syrup, vanilla and a pinch of salt. Mix well to combine and cover.

2.Refrigerate overnight (or at least 6 hours). The mixture should be thick but spoonable. If too thick for your liking, loosen with some more milk.

3.Serve into bowls and top with whatever you desire.


04 . AUGUST . 2023 - VERSION ONE

I used regular full-cream milk to make my overnight oats and adjusted the recipe to only make two serves.

The next day I served the overnight oats in a bowl and topped with the following:

  • 1/2 banana

  • 3 strawberries

  • flaked coconut

  • maple syrup
