Falco Bakery - 288 Smith St, Collingwood, VIC
Friday, 3rd January 2020, 12:24pm, 28 Degrees

Falco Bakery, run by the same crew who own Capitano and Bar Liberty, opened on Smith Street in early December and I finally had the chance to check it out. The bakery fits right into the scene, with neighbours like Happy Valley Shop, Piccolina Gelateria, Meatsmith and Smith St Alimentari to name a few.

It was 28 Degrees on Friday, and was the first day of ‘Very Poor’ Air Quality in Melbourne as a result of the bushfires. I ordered a cold brew and a croissant, and then a little later on I ordered an egg salad sando. Everything was perfectly delicious, and the croissant is totally in my Top Melbourne Croissant List.

People watching was very fun. Everyone seemed to know each other as they popped into the bakery, it was a really wonderful and friendly vibe. Even my friend Julia a.k.a. @juliaostro popped in with her family while I was there and my insta-friend now real life friend Jo was the barista.

Everyone was cool, everyone had style, everyone was wearing either Sneakers (lots of Nike’s) or Birkenstocks.
