About The juliet report

ABOUT

I document the style of lived moments through drawing, writing, and slow cultural observation.

My work explores what we wear, what we notice, and what we carry, in our hands, our wardrobes, and our memories.

At its core, my work circles one central question, approached with curiosity and care: how do we live a beautiful life?

I’m Juliet, a Melbourne-based illustrator and writer, and the creative behind The Juliet Report. I observe culture through the lens of fashion and everyday ritual, documenting the emotional texture of modern life, from outfits and objects to signage, shelves, and shared meals. I approach style not just as trend, but as story, identity, and visual language.

PRACTICE

I came to this work through detour and instinct. After a decade in finance, I shifted into fashion design studies and picked up a set of Copic markers. Drawing became a way to pay attention, and it still is. That instinct now anchors a multidisciplinary practice spanning illustration, writing, cultural commentary, and collaboration.

Since 2019, I’ve also worked with Australian fashion label Alpha60, where I lead store teams and visual merchandising. That role continues to inform my creative eye, from styling mannequins to observing what people reach for, offering a direct line into how fashion moves through real life.

THE JULIET REPORT

The Juliet Report is my central platform, part studio journal and part editorial archive. It gathers illustrated essays, styling notes, observations, and cultural documentation at the intersection of fashion, memory, and daily life.

Across series such as Receipt Observed, Style, Noted, The Kitchen Report, The Wardrobe Report, Juliet Was Here, and The Beauty Report, I document what I notice, from meals and objects to clothes, spaces, and gestures. Together, they form a growing record of how a beautiful life might take shape over time.

COMMISSIONS & COLLABORATIONS

I take on a curated range of illustration and writing commissions, from personal keepsakes to editorial work and brand collaborations. My focus is on emotional accuracy, cultural sensitivity, and care.

Projects range from illustrated homes, outfits, and food rituals to packaging, portraiture, and writing that combines fashion insight with a personal tone. Whether it’s an essay, a storefront drawing, or a set of magnets inspired by a local bakery, the goal is always to document what matters, visually and viscerally.

Clients include:
Penguin Books, Hardie Grant, Clinique, Thankyou, Pan Macmillan, RMIT, I Quit Sugar, Coffee Supreme, Art Series Hotels, Warndu, NYWF, Smith Street Books, The Urban List, Earl Canteen, The Wardrobe Crisis Podcast, Melbourne Food & Wine Festival, City of Melbourne, Stella Prize, Como Lane, Cobb Lane Bakery, and more.

THE STORE

The Juliet Report Store is home to illustrated prints, stationery, magnets, and small editions inspired by cultural noticing. Each piece is rooted in storytelling and visual emotion, designed to feel personal, giftable, and quietly expressive.

ELSEWHERE

When I’m not drawing or writing, I’m usually notebook in hand, watching people in cafés, scanning bookshelves, and noticing which details linger. These moments often find their way back into the work, small clues in an ongoing search for a more beautiful life.
