THE WARDROBE REPORT | Bow Earrings

Spotted on Emma

I love accessories. Jewellery, bags. Not in a maximalist way, but in a way that adds rather than overtakes.

I also love bows. Like, a lot. Bows have been trending for a while now, maybe tied to some core trend (balletcore?), but I don’t care about the trend. I just like bows. The upside of their popularity is they’re easier to find.

The first time I saw these earrings was on my friend Emma. We were mid-conversation when I stopped and asked where they were from. Her answer: H&M.

I don’t shop there. I still think it’s sad they took over that stunning old GPO building. It used to be such a chic place to shop. Someone should take it back. But every now and then, someone tells me they found something good there, and I go in, find it, buy it, and leave.

That’s what happened here. I went in for these earrings. Found them. And also three other pairs: a pearly pair, a diamante pair, and an abstract silver pair. Four pairs, around $100 total. Birthday money well spent? I stood there holding all four, then put three back. Walked out with these ones.

I’m not their customer. But every so often, I’ll go in because I saw something on someone, buy it, and keep it forever. These are one of those things. They’re simple, black, beaded, and bow-shaped. I’m wearing them today.
